BlackBerry Vienna

It looks like the BlackBerry Priv was not the first and last Android phone from the Canadian company. According to the tip received by the folks over at CrackBerry, BlackBerry is already working on its next Android smartphone codenamed “Vienna.”

The renders of Vienna show a candybar smartphone with a physical keyboard. This layout is similar to some popular devices from BlackBerry that were released in the early 2000s. The renders indicate that Vienna will be available in a multitude of colors and don’t reveal anything else about the device.

It is tough to say more about the handset based on the renders alone, but one thing is for certain: the handset will not come with a 5.4-inch screen. In all probability, the Vienna will come with a screen that is around 5-inches. This is because the inclusion of a slider-less keyboard will greatly increase the overall footprint of the device, and the only way BlackBerry can keep that in check is by reducing the screen size.

With the Priv just being released by BlackBerry, it is unlikely that we will see the Vienna make its way to the market anytime soon. My guess is that the handset will be unveiled early next year at CES or MWC.

BlackBerry lovers, it looks like the company is finally back in the game. What do you think about the Priv and Vienna?
