Another day, another Galaxy S5 rumor: Latest gossip says the GS5 will not have a metal body

Remember when the Galaxy Note 3 was nothing but a rumor, and every other month we’d hear something different about the device? The phone will be made out of metal. The phone will not be made out of metal. The phone will have a flexible AMOLED display. The phone will not have a flexible display. The phone will have a 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. The phone will not have a camera with optical image stabilization. I’m sad to report that the same kind of shenanigans are happening with the Galaxy S5.

According to DigiTimes, the Galaxy S5 will not have a metal body. Instead, Samsung will make a body “featuring compound materials such as fiberglass/plastic or carbon fiber/plastic”. Should you believe this rumor? I don’t care anymore at this point. We all know that the Galaxy S5 will be announced at some point within the next three to four months and that it’ll likely have the best components on the market when it launches. As for what it looks like, Samsung is likely keeping that secret locked away in some underground bunker in South Korea that’s guarded by multiple mercenaries that have a license to kill.

What makes a rumor believable versus pure speculation? If the source of the rumor is Reuters or The Wall Street Journal or Bloomberg, then it isn’t really a rumor, it’s pretty much fact. Every other rumor is just “fun” to share, even if it’s BS.
