Amazon Fire Phone first ad

Amazon officially announced their first smartphone, the Fire Phone, in the middle of June. Now, just about a month later, we’re right around the time they’ll get around to launching it on AT&T’s network. To get people primed for the device that will give them easier access to Prime, Amazon’s released their first ad.

The ad, which was released on July 17, uses kids as the prime motivator to get your hands on a new Fire Phone, talking a pair of adults into the brand new device. It starts off with apps and games, which would make sense, and then it turns into basically an ad for Amazon Prime. Which, honestly, shouldn’t surprise anyone, considering the device is just another tool for Amazon to get you to subscribe.

I’ve been on this earth nine years, and I’ve never seen anything like it.

Of course, as the ad will point out towards the end, you get access to Amazon’s Prime service “for free,” as it comes bundled with the handset. Though, the counterpoint to that would be the phone’s price, which many thought would be much cheaper than it ultimately turned out to be. ($199.99 for the 32GB model; $299.99 for the 64GB variant.)

You can check out the ad down below. How do you think it stacks up?
