It looks like Google is also going to join Apple in the notch bandwagon. Allegedly leaked screen protectors of the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL point to the latter coming with a notch display similar to the iPhone X and OnePlus 6.
What’s interesting from the leaked picture today is that Google is seemingly planning on launching the smaller Pixel 3 without a notch, while the larger Pixel 3 XL will adopt a notched display. The notch will allow the latter to come with a bigger display than its predecessor, though it seems like Google has not done much to reduce the size of the bottom chin on both phones.

Despite coming with an 18:9 aspect ratio display, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL featured pretty large top and bottom bezels. From the picture which has leaked today, it looks like Google is not going to do anything about it. On the plus side, the bezels did allow Google to include front-facing speakers on the Pixel 2 and the company is expected to follow a similar path with the Pixel 3.
A number of Pixel fanboys are definitely going to be disappointed to see Google adopt the notch design with the Pixel 3 XL. Despite numerous people making fun of the notch display of the iPhone X when it was launched last year, major smartphones OEMs have already adopted or are in the process of adopting the design for their smartphones.
Are you a notch hater? If yes, why so?
