Yes, you’ve heard this one before: HTC’s design head is on the way out.

The now former vice president of industrial design ah Becker announced on Twitter he’s departing from HTC after less than a year on the job.

His predecessor Scott Croyle left only 11 months ago, making this post seem like a hot potato at HTC. evious to this gig, Becker was a principal with design firm One & Co, which HTC acquired in 2008.

Beck’s replacement is iel Hundt, HTC’s creative director. He’ll likely be tasked with how the One M10 (or whatever HTC decides to call it) will look.

The story behind the story: There are a couple of options for what’s going on behind the scenes. th Becker teasing a new adventure, he could simply be striking out on his own, possibly launching another design firm. Or he’s jumped ship to a different company, though usually we catch wind of such roster moves.

Given that the HTC One M9 reception has been somewhat ho-hum with only minor design tweaks a subpar camera, you have to wonder if this is some of the fallout. There’s a new CEO in town, so it’s always possible Cher ng is cleaning house the ax could fall on others.
