OnePlus is hitting the one year mark, and to celebrate it’s selling a cheap, portable battery pack that can replenish your device three times before needing a recharge.
The 10,000 mAh OnePlus Power Bank is $15, and listed as “coming soon” on the OnePlus site. It can charge two devices simultaneously and is available in Sandstone Black or Silk White. The company is also giving ten lucky users one of its new power bricks.
To keep the party going, OnePlus is continuing to sell its phone without its frustrating invite system, and offering 11 percent off accessories (one plus one, get it?). Additionally, OnePlus is running a contest for what to call its next custom ROM.
The birthday announcement includes a video from CEO Pete Lau, who reflects on the highs and lows (there were plenty) in the company’s first year.
The story behind the story: OnePlus had a pretty decent first year, but suffered too many missteps if it wants to be taken seriously as a key Android device partner. Its phone was pretty well received (including in our review), but there were many crippling bugs, late updates, and a disastrous selfie campaign that would make many think twice about throwing down cash for a OnePlus One—if it wasn't so darn competitively priced.
