Sick of the blue-hued interface Samsung forced on your Galaxy S5 or Note 4? Maybe a pre-loaded theme pack could help spruce things up a bit.

An Italian technology journalist named Antonio Monaco posted what he alleges are screenshots of Samsung’s Touchz Themes app. From the looks of, it appears that the Themes are mostly just icon packs with matching wallpapers. It’s unclear if the Themes work with third-party icon packs.

A glimpse at some of the pre-loaded themes.

The screenshots apparently match the Themes app already available on the Chinese variants of the Galaxy A-series hsets, as well as the Note 4 Galaxy S5. The ability will likely be available by long pressing on the interface, as you normally would to change the wallpaper or add a widget. It’s apparently bundled with the next version of Touchz.

The story behind the story: A healthy helping of pre-loaded Themes isn’t exactly what we have in mind when we’re talking about how Samsung’s needs to update its chintzy blue interface. It’s certainly a huge task to get a team of designers engineers to think up new UI paradigms for any mobile operating system, but now that has done all the hard work, why isn’t Samsung leveraging it? y aren’t we seeing the fruits of its llipop-skinning labor? Maybe they’re still figuring it out.

Hopefully Samsung will allow you to install third-party icon packs from the ay Store, so that you no longer have to deal with setting up a new uncher that supports icon customization. It’s about time Samsung turns down the dial on its Android skin.
