Nokia 6

It has been several months since Nokia and HMD Global officially announced the Nokia 6 Android-based smartphone, but it’s finally coming to the United States.

Back in January, Nokia and HMD Global announced the premium Nokia 6, which is crafted from high-quality aluminum. At the time, the companies confirmed the handset would launch first in China, but that it would arrive at some point in other markets in the future. Today, any fans of the handset can look forward to a launch in the United States in short order.

Nokia and HMD Global announced that the Nokia 6 will officially launch, via Amazon, in the U.S. this July. Unfortunately there’s no specific date to look forward to just yet, but that should change soon enough considering July is right around the corner. When it does become available, the Nokia 6 will be available in Matte Black and Silver, and it will cost $229.

So, what do you get for the price tag? An all-aluminum body, a 5.5-inch 1080p HD display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. There’s also a 16MP camera on the back with a f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP front-facing camera, and the handset is running Android Nougat out of the box as well. One of the more interesting features in the Nokia 6 are a pair of amplifiers, which the companies behind the phone say make it sound much better than a single amp.

So, we finally have a launch date for the Nokia 6 in the U.S. The question, of course, is whether or not it has any potential buyers. If you’re in the U.S., do you plan on picking up a Nokia 6 when it becomes available?
