Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard

Microsoft, a company that’s certainly still aiming to push their mobile platform into the public’s eye, has just announced an accessory that’s aimed at winning over mobile users of any platform.

The company has just announced the new Universal Mobile Keyboard, which is a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard accessory that’s meant to (hopefully) promote productivity on any mobile device you might have. That means you can have a Windows/Windows Phone-, Android- or iOS-based tablet or smartphone, connect it to the keyboard, and then start typing away.

The Universal Mobile Keyboard comes with a detachable stand, meaning you don’t have to keep the tablet or phone right up next to the keyboard if you don’t want to. The ‘board itself is a “chiclet” style offering. There is a switch at the top that makes it easy to transition between the three supported operating systems, which will then map specific keys on the physical keyboard to the OS of choice.

Microsoft announced the new Bluetooth accessory on Tuesday, September 16, but it won’t launch until some time in October. As far as pricing goes, Microsoft has it labeled at $79.95.
