HTC is not a stranger to high-profile celebrities getting added to the marketing mix, and now HTC has signed yet another familiar face — this time from the sports world.

On Monday, November 10, HTC officially announced a brand new multi-year partnership with Robinson Cano, the second baseman for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). The announcement uses plenty of descriptors, including Cano and HTC coming together due to their commitment to “personal excellence,” while HTC also points out Cano’s mentorship efforts as a positive point for the company.

“HTC is a natural fit for me because they always want to be the best at what they do,” Cano said. “Their products are great for me because I’m always on the road and I need my phone to work as hard as I do.

As of this writing, there’s no word on just what this partnership will entail, but the likeliest of events will be the appearance of Cano in HTC marketing materials and ads for their products, especially over the next year or so. Most recently, HTC partnered with Robert Downey Jr. to help market devices.
