BlackBerry Venice leak

The BlackBerry Venice is a phone that’s not quite official just yet, but that hasn’t stopped the handset from showing up in front of the camera more than a few times.

The last time we saw the slider device running Android with a BlackBerry logo was back at the tail-end of August, and this time around we’ve got a few more clearer shots of the handset thanks to Android Authority. The new report, along with the images, does reconfirm that the Venice will be outfitted with an 18-megapixel camera on the back, but unfortunately there still aren’t any camera samples just yet.

The 5.4-inch display is once again put on display thanks to its slider design, giving a clear look at the keyboard that will be displayed underneath it. The new report states that there will be plenty of keyboard shortcuts that BlackBerry implements into the software, making it easier to launch certain aspects of the device and apps. On top of that, there are new options shown when sliding a finger up from the bottom of the display, flanking the standard Google Now option.

All-in-all, based on these leaks, it would appear that BlackBerry is going for a pretty-close-to-stock-Android experience, with only a few tweaks here and there to give it some BlackBerry features.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Venice after it launches, which is still rumored to be in November.
