Muzei Live Wallpaper

Roman Nurik — the developer of DashClock and a member of the Android team at Google — has released his second app on the Play Store today: Muzei Live Wallpaper. Like DashClock though, Muzei Live Wallpaper is more than just a live wallpaper with some enticing features baked in.

Muzei is a live wallpaper that automatically refreshes the background image every day with some famous art images. Users can also specify their own wallpaper source, if they feel like. The wallpaper, however, is blurred and recedes into the background allowing the icons and widgets to grab the spotlight. The Muzei app in itself is also beautifully done and has some quality animations baked in, especially the app closing or opening animation.

In typical Roman style, Muzei is open-source and has an API that allows developers and users to build their own source of wallpapers.

Description

A living museum for your Android home screen.·····Muzei is a live wallpaper that gently refreshes your home screen each day with famous works of art. It also recedes into the background, blurring and dimming artwork to keep your icons and widgets in the spotlight. Simply double touch the wallpaper or open the Muzei app to enjoy and explore the artwork in its full glory.

Alternatively, you can choose your favorite photos from your own gallery or other apps to use on your home screen. To keep your wallpaper fresh, Muzei will rotate through your favorite photos every few hours. (www.mnspas.com)

Muzei Live Wallpaper can be downloaded for free from the Play Store.
