When Google announced the new Nexus 7 this year, I knew I wanted one. Who could say no to stock Android on a 1920 x 1200 panel powered by a quad core Snapdragon 600-class (Google calls it an S4 Pro) processor and 2 GB of RAM? Slight problem, however. I want the LTE version, which unfortunately, isn’t supposed to be officially out yet. Some lucky guy on Reddit managed to buy a 4G LTE Nexus 7 from his local technology store in Germany.
How long until the LTE Nexus 7 launches in other parts of the world? Google hasn’t said anything, which is nerve wracking. The UK operator O2 has said September 12th, but that’s about it. Why not just buy the WiFi version and tether when I need to use it outside? That’s a clunky solution and it’s something I’ve had personal experience with during the few times a year I test a Windows Phone.
Wait a second, I’m the guy who hates Android tablets, right? Yes and no. I bought a Note II because I didn’t want to buy a tablet. But now that I’ve tested a 6.3 inch Galaxy Mega, I’m pretty sure I want a 7 inch tablet for around the house and then a smaller and more compact device, maybe even mid-range, for out on the town.
