In February of this year, BlackBerry detailed its latest physical keyboard-equipped smartphone, the KEYone, with expectations that the handset would launch in April.

Since then, however, news has been light regarding the handset. That changes today, though, with BlackBerry finally confirming a launch date and price tag. Unfortunately the handset won’t make that April timeframe, and will instead arrive in the United States and in Canada on May 31.

In the United States, potential buyers will have only the unlocked GSM and CDMA variants to choose from, which will retail for $549. However, BlackBerry does say that carrier deals are getting finalized, so if you can wait until the summer months, you’ll be able to pick one up at Sprint. Other carriers weren’t confirmed at the time.

Meanwhile, in Canada, the KEYone will be available from these carriers at launch: SaskTel, Bell, Rogers, and Telus for $199 CAD with a two-year contract attached to it.

So, May 31. Just over a month to go. Are you planning on picking up the BlackBerry KEYone?
